Vehicle Extraction Course (8 hours)
This POST-certified course was designed to train law enforcement to deal with apprehending non-cooperative or violent suspects in a vehicle environment. A multitude of scenarios will be addressed, including:
Termination point of VCT techniques
UC/CI recovery
Kidnap victim recovery / hostage rescue
Pursuit termination points
Use of vehicles for cover (live fire)
Violent suspect apprehensions
High risk vehicle stops
Hostage recovery
In this course, students will apply live fire techniques under controlled range conditions to develop personal knowledge and expertise related to fighting from, in and around vehicles. They will then have the opportunity to apply and test tactics in force-on-force training scenarios.
Who should attend: Task force officers, SWAT operators, gang units, patrol personnel, narcotics detectives, fugitive teams, or anyone tasked with locating and arresting felony suspects.
All instructors have extensive experience applying these techniques in the field.
REQUIRED EQUIPMENT:
Note taking materials
Comfortable clothing suitable for a training environment (plainclothes)
Ballistic shield (if assigned)
Sunscreen
Water / snacks
Duty belt (no live fire/ammunition required)
Tac gear (plate carriers, tac vest, helmet if assigned, etc).
