Sniper  Instructor Course

This POST-approved 24-hour course focuses on teaching experienced snipers how to effectively design and run drills and courses of fire for a sniper element on their SWAT team.  The course will cover the following topics:

Teaching fundamentals of shooting

Instructor development techniques

Coaching the shooter

Instructional methods

Designing & safely running range drills

Qualification courses of fire

Time management

Equipment selection

Use of force training

Record keeping & maintenance standards

Training standards

Running a safe range (day/night)

Specialty equipment (night vision, lasers, etc.)

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT:

​

Scoped rifle capable of shooting a 1.5" group at 100 yards

Extra magazines

Factory match-grade ammunition (350 rounds)

Secondary ammunition (if assigned)

Rifle data book 

Scope manual (if possible)

Tripod (if assigned)

All deployment gear (pack, LBE, armor, etc.)

Eye and ear protection

Cold / inclement weather gear

Cleaning materials

Spotting scope (if you have one)

Flashlight

Note taking materials

Sunscreen

Water
