My agency is looking at using suppressors for our sniper team. We currently use them on our AR platforms but are interested in adding them to our bolt guns. Does anyone have any information or testing data on the advantages of shotting suppressed that I can add to my presentation?
Thanks!
Thank you. I will take a look at those suppressors.
Jordan, the biggest benefits of adding a suppressor are increased muzzle velocity (typically 30-50 fps), increased accuracy/consistency, reduced felt recoil and the hearing protection that comes with it.
The downsides are adding 6-8" in length to your barrel, the cost, and the added weight. I shot unsuppressed rifles for years, and at the end of my operational career we ran suppressed systems. In my opinion the benefits far outweigh the costs.
I recommend TiFighter Industries Suppressors, give them a look if you are serious.
