Jordan, the biggest benefits of adding a suppressor are increased muzzle velocity (typically 30-50 fps), increased accuracy/consistency, reduced felt recoil and the hearing protection that comes with it.
The downsides are adding 6-8" in length to your barrel, the cost, and the added weight. I shot unsuppressed rifles for years, and at the end of my operational career we ran suppressed systems. In my opinion the benefits far outweigh the costs.
